Jesus Take the Wheel

How much do you feed your spirit? How much do you fuel your fleshly desires? Have you ever thought about what an honor it is to have direct access to God at any point within our day, yet many of us don’t even take the time to plug-in.

It’s easy to convince yourself, and to even believe that you can handle all that life throws at you! We want to be able to control every aspect of our lives and the thought of letting go of any of that control is difficult to even begin to consider. God wants you to put all of your trust in Him. He wants you to put all of your hope in Him. He wants you to have faith.

God is the living water for our soul. He is the only one who can take our most painful experiences and make something beautiful out of them. He’s the healer when we are sick. He is the comfort we need comforted. He is the truth that puts all the lies you tell yourself daily, to rest.

Did you know that the more we let the Holy Spirit control our hearts and minds, the less our human, fleshly habits will control our actions…but, the only way the Holy Spirit is able to control our innermost being is if we spend time with The One who sent it.

When I think about my own life, I can clearly see the areas where I fully put my trust in God and the areas where I still struggling with giving it all to God. But, we are all in different places when it comes to this. Some of us struggle more with this than others because of past hurts, the way we grew up, and being let down by those that we loved and trusted most. We can’t put God in that box though and look at Him as if he will be like everyone, or everything else. We all have to start somewhere, and sometimes it simply starts with spending quiet time at the feet of Jesus.
