Be still
I’m starting to feel like most of my posts have a reoccurring theme. Most of them are talking about letting go of fear and surrendering to God.
Tomorrow at 10am I will be reading “Day 4” from Shanna Noel’s “100 Days of Bible Promises” and the devotional is titled “Be Still”
How ironic, right?
Most of us in our lives right now are experiencing unexpected changes. Some of us have turned into teachers over night, some of us are laid off from our jobs, some of us work in healthcare and either can’t catch a break, or have been sent home because there isn’t any work available. During this pandemic many of us have a lot of different things needing our attention, but we also have a lot of things trying to distract us from what we are supposed to be learning from this season that we are in.
When was the last time you took time to meditate on the goodness of God? When was the last time you laid your burdens are His feet and surrendered it all to God? When was the last time you listened to worship music?
Things have unexpectedly slowed down for a lot of us, what are we going to do with this time that we’ve been given? I’ve witnessed so many people eager for life to get back to “normal” and most of the time (not always) it’s for selfish reasons. A lot of us have made things in our lives idols, and we have put them at a greater priority in our lives than God, and it’s obvious when you take a step back and look at what is bothering you most right now while the world has basically shut down. How many times have you asked for more time? I know I have.
We have it, now what?
Tomorrow morning at 10am (EST) I’ll be reading a short devotional and scripture and I hope you join me!
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalm 46:10
I am so glad you are here! I hope you feel convicted, encourage and inspired.
