Praise him!

I want to start off today’s blog post with two questions, are you ready?

  1. Do you find yourself questioning God when things go wrong in your life?

  2. How quick are you to praise God when things go right in your life?

I have been thinking about this the past few weeks.

I think as human beings, it’s easier to question God or place blame on God for misfortune in our lives. Acknowledging or recognizing that we may responsible is difficult for most. But why it is so hard to praise God for the good? Why do we always want to take credit for the good in our lives, but question God, or blame God for the bad? Oh, how I wish I had the answers.

I know there are instances when we aren’t responsible for the bad that happens in our lives, there are many times we aren’t responsible for the good either! Like I said, I wish I had definite answers to why questioning God is easy, and praising God is difficult, and I don’t. But, personally I believe it has to do with trust, and where we place our trust, and I think a lot of us don’t trust God enough…I know that I don’t.

If we fully trust God, and we believe that God is always good, and that he works every situation out for our good, we’d find it easy to praise God through all circumstances. It comes down to focusing our minds in the direction of God and praising Him, because when we praise Him we are filled with peace and contentment. Praising God through the good and the bad can begin shift our outlook related to our circumstances. Finding God in the hard times can be difficult, but that’s why it’s so important to choose trust and hope when you can’t see the way.

I want to challenge all of us to make praising God a priority. Through every circumstance, good or bad. Praise Him.
