Where is our faith?
In our humanness, why is it so hard to believe that God won’t fail us? It’s so easy for us to be able to look back on our past and remember all the good He has done, but for some reason as soon as things start to fall apart, or we feel like we are losing control of a situation we panic , we get overwhelmed, and we usually we start to try and fix things ourselves.
If we truly believe in God, and we believe His Word is truth, why would we ever choose to believe that he would abandon us when we need Him. Is it a lack of faith? Often, we stress ourselves out about things that we have no control over, but why? We don’t gain anything from it.
Deuteronomy 31:8 says, “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you or forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” and Deuteronomy 1:30 says, “'The LORD your God who goes before you will Himself fight on your behalf…”
In the coming days and weeks, let’s all try and remember that God is always one step ahead. Find comfort in knowing that God already knows the outcome of whatever it is that we are going through. He is preparing our steps and laying out our path. He’s preparing our journey. He walks ahead of us and fights our battles. He provides comfort to us in our hardships and during circumstances that he knows will require us to be comforted.
God gave His only Son so that we wouldn’t be separated from Him, so let’s remember to trust the One who will never leave us, forsake us, or forget about us.
