Life Happens
Life happens.
Think about it.
We spend so much of our day worrying about the future, trying to predict the outcome of future scenarios, stressing out about things that haven’t even happened yet, and things that may never happen. Then, you blink and a week went by…then a month…then a year…then five…and what have you accomplished for the Kingdom of God? What have you done to leave a legacy behind?
The church we’ve been attending is doing a sermon series titled “Sermons from the seats” and Danny Cox the lead Pastor quoted a powerful statement by Muhammad Ali… “Live everyday as if it were your last because someday you’re going to be right.”
Wow! Talk about convicted.
Friends, we aren’t promised tomorrow, next week, or next month. I don’t know about you but I don’t want to have to answer to God when I’m standing face to face with Him and he asks me “What did you do with the time I gave you?” It’s important that we start being intentional about hearing Gods voice, recognizing our calling, and being obedient and actually doing what God is calling us to do!
What does living mean to you? A lot of people think about traveling, getting married, having children, making a great salary, buying your dream house, etc. and there is nothing wrong with any of those but chasing after these things will not lead you to a full life and they most definitely won’t bring your longterm happiness. Each one of us have formed traits, characteristics and taken on roles that God never intended for us because we are chasing after what the world has taught us is important.
In 2020 I want to be more intentional about living my best life, every single day, for Jesus. I want to live the life that God wants for me. I wholeheartedly believe that God will affirm his purpose in your life, if you ask Him.
Take a few moments to think about your gifts, talents and passions. How can you use them to share the love of Christ with others? How can you use them to enrich your life, and bring joy to others. How can you use them, so that when you are gone, you leave a beautiful legacy behind.
I challenge you to spend time with God and ask him to reveal to you His plans for your life…and then listen, and step out of your comfort zone and in faith, and begin living the life that God intended you to live.
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
Lord, I pray for all of those reading this. I pray that you open their hearts and pour into them all of the plans you have for their lives and show them the abundant life in Christ they can have if they are obedient to you. I pray they can hear your voice and that they don’t second guess or question the calling on their life. I pray that you surround them with encouragement and positivity to fulfill your will and that they don’t look back on their life with regret, but look back and are blessed by the legacy they have left.
Amen.
