Diligence…

When you look up the word diligence it is defined as, “careful and persistent work or effort.”

What are you diligent in? In what areas of your life are you persistent?

I think it’s the perfect time to look deeper into what it means to have diligence, especially while we are dealing with the pandemic and all the other craziness going on in the world around us. It’s easy to procrastinate or give up on the things we’ve been working towards for so long. Keep pushing forward, keep the faith, and don’t give up.

In 2014 I decided to become a Mary Kay, Independent Beauty Consultant. It was a spur of the moment decision on the way home from a family vacation to Florida. Within my first month I was on target for my first free car and already in qualifications to become a Director. Life happened, and I threw everything I had worked towards away and decided to wrap things up and step away from my business.  Last week I decided to restart my business. I had began thinking about how much joy it brought me. I enjoyed meeting new people, leading other ladies and encouraging them to be the best versions of themselves, and having something that I did for me, something that I was good at, and something I actually enjoyed. I hate looking at the time that has passed and thinking about where I could have been right now on my Mary Kay journey. How many lives I could have changed, how many ladies I could have empowered to become everything God has called them to be, and I can’t forget to mention how I probably would have earned at least 2 free cars by now! I wish I would have stayed diligent, and pressed on ahead even though things were difficult. Instead I allowed myself to take the easy way out. I quit, and looking back…gosh, I wish I hadn’t.

What have you quit recently? Or, are you currently contemplating stepping away from something that is difficult? Sometimes there is a reason for the difficulty you’re experiencing. Sometimes everything you are going through is meant to grow you and prepare you for the next season of your life. I urge you to pray about it. Ask God to lead you and to guide your decisions, and wait to see where he moves you, or if he moves you. Stay planted. Stay focused. Be diligent.

I am so glad you are here! I hope you feel convicted, encourage and inspired.
